Emma Armstrong
CEO, FCB New York & Global Chief Transformation Officer
Emma loves great work that drives business. Throughout her career she has a history of building global brands through award winning work that delivers exponential business results for her clients. She believes that great people, surrounded by a great culture, can solve the toughest problems---all in service of making an exponential difference to our client’s lives, careers, and their bottom line. It’s that simple. And as hard as that. Emma has over twenty five years marketing experience and brings a broad range of digital, media and brand expertise to her current role as CEO of FCB New York and Global Transformation Officer for FCB.
A UK native, Emma is a true global citizen. She grew up in the United Arab Emirates, spent time living in New Zealand and her career spans leadership roles in the UK and the US. After graduating from Cambridge University with a Masters degree in Biological Anthropology, Emma spent a decade in digitally-focused client and agency roles before moving to run large integrated global accounts. Over the next decade, she ran FedEx and General Electric at BBDO, followed by the P&G global hair care portfolio at Grey. Prior to joining FCB in 2019, Emma ran the New York office of the media agency, iCrossing.
Throughout her career, Emma has been a passionate believer in the fact that creative without measurable results is detrimental to the future of our industry. Emma joined FCB in 2019 to lead the New York office, and since then, her focus on creativity as an economic multiplier has delivered consistent results. Under her leadership, the New York agency has more than doubled in size, evolving into a creative powerhouse known for delivering audience-first, data-driven award-winning and business-driving results for the office’s ever-expanding client roster.
That approach has fueled a remarkable run of recognition for a creative model that's delivering year after year. In 2025, FCB New York pulled off a rare industry feat---earning Agency of the Year honors at The One Show, ADC Awards, Clio Awards, and D&AD Awards, including a prestigious Black Pencil at D&AD. These wins mark back-to-back Agency of the Year titles at both The One Show and ADC, and build on the agency's 2023 accolades: Clio Awards Agency of the Year, Campaign's B2B and Experiential Agency of the Year, WARC’s #1 Effective Creative Agency in the World, and Global Contagious Magazine Pioneer. During Emma's tenure, FCB New York has won three Grand Prix Cannes Lions and a Grand Effie. In 2024, FCB was named Cannes Lions' "Regional Network of the Year - North America" for the sixth consecutive year.
Emma also leads transformation across all of FCB globally, helping the network and its clients stay ahead of constant change. As Global Transformation Officer, she connects the dots across offices—scaling what’s working, sharing innovation widely, and raising the baseline for creativity.
Emma has been named a top-50 marketing leader by Adweek, one of Campaign’s “Female Frontier Leading the Charge” and one of Ad Age's Leading Women.
